How do I set up a Patchwork wedding gift list?
If you’re ready to get started, it couldn’t be easier to set up your Patchwork wedding registry and create the best wedding list. There’s no need to sign up in order to create a Patchwork gift list, so you’re free to have a play around and explore your options.
You can either choose to customise one of our brilliant template registries or start your own from scratch. Once you’ve chosen, you can add your own introductory description. This is a great way to welcome your wedding guests to your page and tell them about what it is you’ve chosen to fund and why. You can add anything you like, whether that's contributions towards your honeymoon, money towards a home or garden project, gift items you'd love or even add patches to make a charity gift list. You can also add your own banner image to personalise your wedding registry.
If you choose to customise a template registry you can leave the rest of the page as it is, or you can edit item descriptions, images and prices, and you can also add new items. So it's similar to the way you'd add items to an Amazon wedding registry or a John Lewis gift list except a lot more exciting! If you decide to create your own gift list from scratch, you can upload all of your own images of the items or experiences you want to fund. Then you can give each item a description and a price.
You’ll be able to set a quantity limit for each item, so if you’d like 200 of one thing and 2 of another, that’s up to you. There is no limit to how many items you can add, so get your thinking caps on and decide what you’d like to include.
Then, when you’re ready to share your gift list, all you need to do is choose your own unique URL and link your Stripe account so you can collect funds direct.
You’ll also get the opportunity to compose a thank you message that will appear when one of your loved ones sends you a wedding present. Then you’re ready to share! You can print invitation inserts with our partner MOO, send the URL out via email, or link up your page to your wedding website.
When and how should I share my wedding gift list with guests?
It makes sense to include your honeymoon wedding list or wedding gift registry when you send out your invitations, so prepare them all at the same time and then post everything at once. You can just write your URL in your invitations or include a gift insert. And if you have a wedding website it’s a good idea to include a link to your Patchwork gift registry there too.
How will our Patchwork wedding gift list work for our guests?
Your guests can go direct to your online wedding gift list using the URL you give them, or they can search for it on our homepage. They won’t need to create an account with us or use a special code to access your Patchwork wedding registry, all they need is your name and/or email address.
Once on your wedding gift list page they can choose the items they want to fund and add them to their basket, then they can leave you a little note along with a photo of themselves that will appear on your message board.
Your guests can pay using credit/debit card and their funds will be transferred directly and immediately into your Stripe account.
Once their cash gift has been sent, they will see your message of thanks.
How will we receive our cash gifts?

How can we keep track of contributions and send thanks?
Whilst your guests can’t see what each other have bought, you can. In your Patchwork wedding website account you will have a record of following:
- Date
- First and last name
- Address (if supplied by your guest)
- Gifts
- Amount spent
- Message
You will be alerted by email when anyone buys you a gift. But you can also set your notifications to receive alerts daily, weekly, monthly or never.
You can download a CSV of the information in your account, so you can see everything in a spreadsheet.
You can contact your guests individually or as a group via the Patchwork wedding list website and send thank you messages along with photos of you enjoying your gift.
